Also sometimes referred to as The Hite, this is the Budweiser of South Korea. A fairly standard low-quality lager, it is the most commonly-consumed maekju (beer) in Korea. Like its North American equivalent, it contains about 5% alcohol by volume and is nearly flavourless. This makes is ideal for beer-drinkers who only pretend that they like beer, in other words, most drinkers.

The same brewery also brews Hite Stout, a black beer. Don't expect anything close to Guinness, however. It has a little more flavour than Hite Lager, but not much more; the primary difference is the colour.

The slogan is, predictably, "The Hite of Beer."
