G-Unit, short for
Gorilla Unit, is a
rap group composed of
50 Cent (Curtis Jackson), Lloyd Banks (Christopher Lloyd), Young Buck (David Brown) and Tony Yayo.
Much like the Wu-Tang Clan, the G-Unit soldiers have released an album under the group name called Beg for Mercy (2003) but recently have been involved with their individual albums.
50 Cent released Get Rich Or Die Tryin' in February 2003 with several lesser known releases in 2002, and other members of the group released their debut albums in 2004, with Lloyd Banks' "The Hunger for More" in June and Young Buck's "Straight Outta Cashville" in August. Tony Yayo is currently in jail but makes guest appearances on the albums.
