The Notes
Well officially, it's like a C major, only with one of the C's raised up to a D. So, essentially, you just need a C,a D, an E and a G.
What I Reckon
I'm a big fan of Cadd9. You don't get many add9's these days - I never see many anyhoo - except the Cadd9. Thing with it is, you can either use it to bring a little interest to an otherwise C major-only bar (by adding the pinky onto the 3rd fret of the 2nd string), or you can start on a G, with your ring finger and pinky on the 3rd fret of the 1st and 2nd strings respectively, and then just move your pointing and swearing fingers up a string to form the Cadd9. You can steam on up to a Dsus4 if you like, leaving your ring and pinky just where they are.
