There is evidence to suggest that the British White breed of cattle has existed in England for up to six thousand years. It is an excellent beef cow, with well-marbled, low-fat meat and a calm disposition.

Interestingly, the British government sent a particularly storied herd of Britsh White cattle to the United States in 1940, for fear that, if England were invaded, the breed would be lost.
