Hailing from Fayetteville, AR, Dr. Bill Ashmore holds the distinction of being the most senior employee at the U of A Computing Services Department. In the heyday of mainframes, drum memory, core and other fun things, he was an IBM mainframe assembly geek. However, these days he's become Microsoft certified and does things with Windows NT servers. He also maintains a collection of odd things on the corner of his desk, including vintage cough drops, a railroad spike, and several varities of stale candy. One of the few men who can read core dumps in octal, and generate a complete backtrace in his head. Makes the best coffee known to man. Provides meat and potatos to the employees of the U of A Computing Services Department every year at the Fabulous Fall Function.
