Miss Oklahoma 1958, runner-up in the Miss America Pageant, went on to an unremarkable career as a singer/actress (a female Pat Boone, perhaps?). Was a prominent presenter and spokesmodel (most notably for the orange juice industry in her adopted home state of Florida) until she became the mouthpiece for an early anti-gay-rights ordinance in Dade County - her OJ-magnate buddies dropped her like a hot potato. Later opened a theatre in Branson, which flopped.
