ILEC), a.k.a.
RBOC, serving the 5-state region of
Illinois,
Michigan,
Wisconsin,
Indiana, and
Ohio. Other services provided include
Internet access,
cellular and
security systems. Has annoying television
commercials including the
annoying girl in the Ameritech commercial with references to
bubble wrap. Their latest
annoying commercials are about
Privacy Manager, which is being
marketed as the best thing since
sliced bread. Which,
theoretically doesn't completely
block sales calls because any
telemarketer can give their
name and still get someone's
phone to
ring while they are
bathing their
child or
brushing their
teeth.
Since Ameritech is a phone company, their customer service as usual just plain sucks.
