Factoid: This song begins with a
chime and a
female voice announcing:
"Ukončete výstup a nástup, dveře se zavírají. Příští stanice: Jiřího z Poděbrad."
In the
Czech language, this means: "Cease exiting and entering,
the doors are closing. The next station is Jiřího z Poděbrad." This is a message played on
Metro trains in
Prague,
Czech Republic, when departing a station (only now they have added "
prosím"("
please")).
The station Jiřího z Poděbrad is located under a
square of the same name, named in
honor of George of
Poděbrady (Jiří z Poděbrad in Czech), who was a wise
King of
Bohemia in the
15th century, after the
Hussite Wars.
Albeit pretty, the
station isn't
remarkable in any way, and I certainly wonder why
Radiohead chose to slap this in there.
