suffering from
myopia that requires minus 8
dioptre lenses (either
glasses or
contacts) is not as bad as it might sound.
of course, you are nearly
blind. but
it can be corrected easily, up to a vision of 125%. so for
everyday life you're just a
normal guy.
it also brings some
advantages: if you're into
printing, you get
much more
detail when looking at the printout from only 3cm and still see it clearly. the letters are so damn big then, and you can count the dots of your favourite
1400dpi inkjet. and if you're blind, your other
senses strengthen. you can judge wether somebody
smiles, even if you can't make out her/his mouth. rather
staggering experience, can make you believe in
mystical energy.
