Small town in Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York -- approximately 2 hours from any major city. It's near Cornell University (40 minutes). One of two incorporated cities in Steuben County. Home of the Corning Museum of Glass, Rockwell Museum (home to a great deal of art from the American Southwest, Benjamin Patterson Inn, and what used to be Corning Glass Works but is now Corning, Inc.
The company is known more for consumer products (Pyrex, Revereware, Corelle) but is now involved in more high-growth sections of technology, e.g. life sciences, photonics, and fiber optic cables
