Howard Finster is a visionary. As a little boy at age three, he had his first vision of his sister coming down from the clouds with steps appearing before her. Her name was Abby. Howard grew up in a family of thirteen children. At the age of sixteen he was called to preach, started many tent revivals, and build several churches. After 1976 when Howard heard a dismembered voice telling him to paint sacred art, he has become a well known artist. He painted an album cover for R.E.M. and one for the Talking Heads. The latter of which was voted album cover of the year by Rolling Stone Magazine in 1985. The Coca-Cola Company commissioned him to paint an eight foot Olympic Coke Bottle to represent the United States Art exhibits for the Olympics in 1996.
