The Tron Box is a device that works when the load in your house is low, ie night. It puts a reverse phase signal on the line, causing the electric meter to either slow down, or hopefully go backward. The end result is a smaller electric bill.

Sorry, but this design won't work. You're likely to end up with capacitor shrapnel everywhere, and a fire if you're especially lucky. Allow me to explain.

Electrolytic capacitors are polarized. They can't handle current that's not of the proper polarity. When you feed them too much current in the wrong direction, they become violently unhappy and leak lovely capacitor juices everywhere. Furthermore, the capacitors specified by this text file are only rated to 50 volts. Standard line current in the United States is 120 volts AC, alternating at 60 Hertz. While capacitors are great for reducing ripple in DC, they are not good rectifiers. Feeding 120 volts AC through polarized capacitors rated for 50 volts DC will cause problems. It would cause problems even with caps rated for higher voltages - electrolytics don't like AC. Even if one were to ignore the above problems, there's still the problem of how this is supposed to reverse your electric meter. Unless all current to the meter is suitably filtered, installing this box will not overcome the oscillations of the rest of the power grid, and will leave you with a smelly, toxic mess and/or a fire.

Don't say I didn't warn you.
