Personally, I get a feeling that oscillates between amusement and sarcasm when I set myself down on the U-shaped seat inscribed American Standard:

Jurph notes that throughout the Cold War, the toilets in the Kremlin were branded American Standard. It is unknown if this is because the brand predated the revolution.
