Science Fiction writer, who (among other things) used to edit an excellent anthology called The Year's Best S-F. I'd checked at least one of these out of the library as a kid, and there were more than the usual number of excellent, unforgettable stories. Years later, still haunted by some of those stories, I managed to find a copy of the 10th annual edition at Powell's in Portland, a truly excellent bookstore, and I can again reread classic stories such as Gas Mask, Descending, and The Twerlik.
