rave review, an overwhelmingly
positive review of a
movie,
play or
book. This is similar to the third
verb in the
Webster 1913 writeup (To talk with unreasonable
enthusiasm or excessive
passion or
excitement), but is used as a
noun.
The opposite of a rave, in this context, is a pan.
