A Type I
error is committed when an attempt is made to correct a process, even though there is nothing wrong with the process. This is generally thought to be more costly then a
Type II error since it is usually more expensive to fix machines.
Type I and Type II errors are relevant in
statistical analysis. Data in such analysis can be given percentages, such as: percentage of Type I error, or percentage of Type II error.
