The Twike is a kind of
velomobile manufactured in
Switzerland. It looks like a very small three wheeled
car with a partially open top, or a very large cross between a
futuristic tricycle and a
motorcycle, with the two seated passenger compartment mostly enclosed. The more you pedal, the less battery power is expended - but you can rely fully on battery power when you wish.
As of June 2001, Discover magazine states that the mantufacturer (SwissLEM Ltd.) has sold about six hundred of these in Switzerland and Germany. They still cost more than an inexpensive car.
