This is one of many different recipes for hummus, known more specifically as "hummus bi
tahina"
Ingredients:
- 1 (16 oz. can chickpeas
- ½ to 1 C. cold water
- 2 t. salt
- 3 cloves garlic (or more)
- ¼ to ½ C. lemon juice
- 1 C. tahina (ground sesame seeds)
- 3 T. olive oil
Put all ingredients except water in a blender or food processor and blend. Add water if it's too thick and blend until it is a consistency appropriate for spreading. Serve with pita bread.
