A character in
Squaresoft's
Bushido Blade. The eldest of the standard characters, 55-year-old Utsusemi was born in Shimane,
Japan. He is six feet tall and weighs 187 pounds, and his name means "empty
cicada."
Utsusemi believes things went wrong at Kage when the master stole back Yugiri, the enchanted sword. Ever since Utsusemi lost out to the current dojo master to be the next in line, the master has hated him. Fearing for his own safety, he left Meikyokan.
Utsusemi appears again as a hidden character in Bushido Blade 2. He can be unlocked for standard play by completing Story Mode with Tatsumi without dying, or by using the GameShark code 3009BC7F 0003.
