A form of visualization that represents numeric data in form of graphs (pie charts, bar charts, histograms, lines, points and so on). These graphs are often combined with text, pictures and sometimes animations and other multimedia elements to form a presentation.
Its sole reason of existence is to help the pointy-haired bosses, who normally don't understand anything about numbers, to accept the budget. =)
Generally, this application is part of spreadsheet packages today. Microsoft Office and StarOffice are both well capable of producing presentations, as are many other numerical applications. See also MagicPoint.
