Ukrop's (thing)

Some key facts about Ukrop's:

• Not open on Sundays
• Do not sell alcohol of any type
• Only started accepting credit cards in 1999
• Most locations have a Ukrop's Cafe, offering deli sandwiches and fried chicken
• Their Ukrop's Valued Customer card campaign was one of the first such ideas in the country, where a store would give you discounts in order to have you give an identification number allowing tracking of your purchases
• Locations outside Richmond (all within Virginia): Williamsburg, Fredericksburg

Their Fredericksburg location has apparently not been as successful as they'd hoped. Other than being in a bad location within the city, I can't help but think that perhaps Lynchburg would have been a better expansion target than Fredericksburg. IMHO, no alcohol and closed-on-Sunday would go over pretty well in the land of Jerry Falwell.
