A peppershaker, i.e., a small container for holding ground pepper, with small holes in the top so that you can shake a light sprinkling of pepper onto your food. Also something resembling the shapes of a pepper pot, such as a pepper pot dome.

A soup made with peppers and other vegetables, tripe or other meat, and often dumplings.

Here's a sample recipe. This recipe is pretty simple; a Google search will find many more, most of them more complex. You will notice that this recipe doesn't have any spices (a major failing); feel free to add your own.

1/2 pound honeycomb tripe, cut in strips or cubes
3 onions, sliced
1/2 stalk celery, chopped
3 green peppers, seeded, cut in cubes
3 red peppers, seeded, cut in cubes
2 quarts water
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup potatoes, peeled, diced

Mix together and boil for an hour and 15 minutes.

Add:
1 cup cream
and boil 5 minutes longer.
