Scooters are like small
motorbikes with no
gears. You put your
legs in front of you instead of on either side, as on a
motorbike.
Scooters are very easy to ride, and tend to be small enough to dodge traffic, making them great in cities like London. Unfortunately, they're a bit slow.
A famous make of scooter was the Vespa, an Italian make. They were very popular with the mods in the 60's in England. They are still popular in all over Europe.
