The main thing about the universe is, there's a heck of a lot of it.

Now, don't get me wrong here. This is not some smarmy, postmodern, two-bit Adams "Space is really big" ripoff in order to demonstrate why I'm such a hit at parties. Nor is it some Sagan-inspired, "Have you ever really thought about it, like, we're just a tiny dot on a planet which is just a tiny dot in the solar system which is just some pimple on God's ass" hackneyed philosophy session. I use the word "universe" as a mere convention. It could also be "life" or "experience"or "existence" or "my backyard."

All i'm saying is, there is so much life to be experienced. Anywhere, anything. No matter what you look at, be it a metropolis or a couple bushes in my aforementioned yard, it's so jam-packed with stuff that it boggles my mind. Just stop, and stare. Examine. Patterns of moisture on leaves after a light rain, the byzantine threads of a spider's web, rippling patterns of sound in your favorite concerto, the psychology of just about anyone you'll ever meet. There is so much to be experienced wherever you go. It makes me wonder at people who say they feel as though the world were dead; even death presents exciting new opportunities for more stuff.

Crikey. It's enough to make you want to go become a Romanticist.
