New for 2004 at Knott's
Camp Snoopy in
the Mall of America located in Bloomington, MN is the Timberland Twister. It is the third
roller coaster after
Pepsi Ripsaw
Roller Coaster and Lil' Shaver. The
station for the new
roller coaster has taken over the Northwoods Stage area. Timberland Twister was built by Gerstlauer of
Germany who also built
Spinning Dragons of
Worlds of Fun in
Kansas City, Missouri.
Timberland Twister interacts well with the scenery of Knott's Camp Snoopy as it makes a 360 degree turn around the Kite Eating Tree swings ride and ducks underneath the Pepsi Ripsaw. The spinning cars for the ride allow four people sitting across from each other in pairs, which when the weight is not distributed evenly will provide higher lateral Gs on turns. Timberland Twister is not a spinning wild mouse ride as it does not have the wild mouse's signature hairpin turns.
