Like the
wand of cold, this is a powerful
weapon.
Zapping it emits a blast of
fire in a straight line that does a bunch of
damage to whatever is in its path. Being blasted by a
wand of fire also subjects one's
flammable items to
destruction, as noted with the
scroll of fire. This
wand is another reason not to
zap yourself with unidentified
wands.
As it should, the wand of fire will melt ice on the ground and evaporate pools. A wand of fire is also a good way to save yourself when you have been slimed.
