The usage of the
pronoun "
we" among
royalty in some cultures, to signify that the
king,
queen,
emperor or
empress represent the whole of the
people, not only themselves.
Not to be confused with pluralis majestaticus - this plural form is used for majestic entities rather than majesty, the Trinity being a common example.
Further confusion is induced by yet another linguistic weirdness - the editorial "we".
