Every business is managed by 3 major categories: finance, marketing, and operations management. The vice president of each department reports directly to the CEO of the company. Finance is in charge of the company's cash flows, current assets, and capital investments. While Marketing is in charge of the sales, generating customer demand, and understanding customer wants and needs.

Operations management is the business role responsible for the planning, organizing, and controlling of the resources needed to produce a company's products and services. An operation manager's main role is to transform a firm's raw materials into products. A more straightforward definition would be that they're in charge of a corporation's manufacturing plant. They manage the people, equipment, and resources to make sure it's producing the goods that the business sells.
