Gray-line propagation is communication using radio waves between two stations on the terminus. During the twilight hours, the D-Layer of the ionosphere disappears, which leaves strong E- and F-layers. Long distance communications using gray-line propagation can extend around the globe, typically 10,000 mile signals on three or four amateur radio frequencies.
