As I walk along, I see I've
caught your eye. I don't know what it is
about me that's caused it, but I can see you looking. My heart starts to
flutter, I don't always enjoy this attention.
I watch that twinkle change, that slight crinkling of the brow, the
alteration in your expression so little, it may not have even really
occured. But it says volumes, more than you'd ever think.
I feel my self-confidence disappear in a flash, space left to be filled by
doubt and self-loathing. I know you don't like what you see. I feel it,
feel it like the cold wind biting through my clothes. I don't belong
here, I don't belong anywhere around you. "Anywhere but here!" screams out at me from the silence.
I move on, never to see you again. But you are permanently etched in my mind. Words never said, engraved into me, altering my life forever. One moment, so fleeting, but too eternal.
