Waegwan is a medium sized industrial town in South Korea, located approximately 30 km from Taegu, in the southeastern portion of the country. It is located in the Naktong river valley.
Waegwan is home the the US Army base Camp Carroll, which is home to a Military Police, Signal and Quartermaster unit. There are about 3,000 Soldiers stationed there.
Near gate four of Camp Carroll, there are numerous bars where a westerner can feel at home, as this is where the soldiers play. The Queen Bee and King Star club are two of these. I used to DJ at the King Star in 1994. The only real activites in Waegwan involves drinking massive quantities of OB Beer and trying to keep the prostitutes from asking you to 'buy me drinky?'. I recommend the nightlife in Taegu over that in Waegwan.
