The
University of Toronto's
student newspaper, since 1880. Published
bi-weekly (Mondays and Thursdays, usually) and supported by a
levy on
undergraduate students. Among others,
Peter Gzowski and
Naomi Klein once wrote for the Varsity. Sometimes referred to as the Varshitty.
Of course, with a university as big as the UofT, there's space for a lot of newspapers. Some of the others are Salterrae (Trinity College), The Gargoyle (University College), The Strand (Victoria College), The Innis Herald (Innis College), The Mike (St. Michael's College), The Window (New College), The Cannon (engineering faculty), The Toike Oike (the engineers again), The Bulletin (official newspaper, mouthpiece of the administration), and probably a few more i've neglected to mention.
