Sappiness is in the eye of the beholder. If it's a young couple that just doesn't know when to stop the PDAs, then it's disgustingly sweet to the point of nausea. Most Hollywood films, especially the melodramas, are equally sappy with their fairy-tale happy endings that make you want to hurl. However, if it's you and a bunch of friends who are close to the point of practically being family just goofing off and being silly, then it's not only okay, it's encouraged. Basically, sappiness is one of those things where if it's happening to you, it's fun, but when it's not, it's annoying.
