Band fronted by the ubiquitous Joe Pernice (also of Scud Mountain Boys, Chappaquiddick Skyline and Big Tobacco fame). 1998 debut album "Overcome By Happiness" was released to widespread critical acclaim. The album's title is misleading (in the title track, the line is actually "you don't feel so overcome by happiness") given the melancholic nature of the intricate, lushly orchestrated songs, but it's hard to deny the beauty of the results.
