Norwegian band, made up of
Espen Enger and
Marius Våreid. They changed the name from
Phileas Fogg not long before the consert at the
Quart festival in 1998 (Where I saw them live). Before that, they were know as
Frydenstund, a
pun on a Norwegian
beer brand.
They make largely electronic music, with a lot of influence from funk, jazz, hip-hop and pretty much everything else. They have published one album (A nightclub in Tunis) that got a lot of positive reviews, but did not sell very well.
The band most resembling Päronsoda on an international basis, is probably Air. 'Päronsoda' is pronunced 'përonsodah' and means 'pear sodapop' in Swedish.
