Otl Aicher (born 1922 in Ulm, died 1991) was one of the most influential graphic designers in Germany. After World War II he founded (together with Max Bill and Inge Aicher-Scholl) the School of Design in Ulm (HfG Ulm), whose philosophy of effective design clearly continued the traditions of the Bauhaus.

Aicher is know for his modern, sober designs like those of German Lufthansa, Braun and ZDF, or the Rotis type. His maybe most important work, though, was the visual identity of Munich's Olympic Games in 1972 (including the pictograms).
