Murray N. Rothbard (
1926-
1995)
An economist of the Austrian school, founder of the
Libertarian movement, and prolific
writer. Influenced heavily by
Ludwig von Mises and
F. A. Hayek.
Rothbard's essays cover a wide range of topics, many of which are outside the realm of pure economics, including egalitarianism, the nature of a state, and the perils of socialism, fascism, and scientism.
I highly recommend Egalitarianism as a Revolt Against Nature, a collection of his essays.
