Molly Bang was born in 1943, in Princeton, New Jersey. Since then, she has lived in Japan, India, and Mali, and has worked as an illustrator, author, translator, and "consultant." I don't know who was consulting her, or on what.
Information on Molly is scarce - one would think www.mollybang.com might be helpful, but it isn't. She illustrates children's books, and her pictures are often unusual - to emphasize the theme of recycling in Chattanooga Sludge, a book on environmental cleansing, she created all the collaged illustrations from recycled magazines.
Molly currently divides her time between Falmouth, Massachusetts and California.
