The typical Mexican beer is usually very light and brewed with a large percentage of
corn in the
mash compared to European beers - much like
bourbon compared to
malt whisky.
They are usually very light in taste, with little or no
bitterness. The lack of bitterness make these beers ideal for mixing in
shandys and other beer-based
drinks, or by itself with a piece of
lime or
lemon floating in the bottle, and served very
cold.
