Mesoamerica, a term often bandied about by archeologists, anthropologists, and PBS, is a rather vague region of Middle America that stretches through parts of central and southern Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The area was the home of a few great civilizations (most notably the Mayans and Aztecs) and is rich in pre-Columbian artifacts and ruins.
