An amazing novella by
Harlan Ellison which got me turned on to him in the first place. The story is about a man who can read (and change) minds. His friend asks him to go to a
prison to look into the mind of a convicted
murderer to see if he is really guilty. The whole book is quite a
trip, especially the
ending. I used to have just the novella in a small hardcover book form with a really cool
illustration on the cover, but I lent it to someone and never got it back. Now I have it as a member of Ellison's collection,
Slippage.
Note (5/23/02):
Amberwonko says that e thinks the cover art on the novella is by
Frank Miller.
