A
Civilization advance.
Henry Ford is credited with both the development and installation of mass production
assembly lines in his
automobile plants. Products being built were conveyed from one work station to another along the line. At each station, a worker expertly repeated a discreet segment of the assembly process on each product. This process resulted in dramatic increases in productivity and, thus, the availability of products.
