Manchester was once the worlds largest producer of textiles thanks to the large number of mills on the banks of the nearby Merrimack River.

Today it is the largest city in New Hampshire at about 105,000 people (and no leisure-time activities except video gambling-- see manchvegas), and is now at the center of New Hampshire's booming high-tech industries. This city is home to what is possibly the most right-wing newspaper in the northeast (the Union Leader), as well as Adam Sandler (a tragedy for which this otherwise fine city should not be blamed).
