Group of islands in Northern Norway. The main five islands are (from North-East and outwards): Austvågøy, Vestvågøy, Flakstadøy, and Moskenesøy. Fishing has always been the most important trade, and the archipelago is home to the most important seasonal fishing in Norway, when the arctic cod return from Svalbard in the months from January to April to lay their eggs.
