Lets Get Real is a
high school competition that allows high school students to solve real-life
business problems for large corporations such as
Hershey Foods. The program is run by Dr. Dan Holt who resides in
Pennsylvania.
The students must tackle these business problems as if they were employees of the company and attempt solutions similar in manner to an
Industrial Engineer.
Lets Get Real is a contest open to students of the entire
United States, however, the contest is mostly based in
Pennsylvania.
In order to enter the contest a team of students must submit a 5-10 page report which is then checked for
validity of ideas, way in which the ideas are outlined, and other general parameters. If that teams' report is chosen as a
finalist then the team must compete using an
oral presentation format at the
company headquarters. Finally, a winner for each company is decided upon and a
trophy awarded to the school.
