1 head lettuce
1 cup celery
4 hard-cooked eggs
1 (10 oz.) bag peas, thawed (not cooked)
½ cup finely chopped green peppers

Break up the lettuce into small pieces. Put the lettuce into the bottom of a bowl or baking dish. Next, layer the celery, then the eggs, the peppers and the peas on top of each other.

Mix the dressing ingredients below, and spread over the top of salad. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top.

2 cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sugar
8 slices of crisp bacon, fried and broken in pieces (optional)

4 oz. cheddar cheese
