Kobaian is the language in which all of
Magma's songs are sung.
Some say it is a cross between Klingon and Chinese opera.
Others say it is just a strange form of gutteral French.
Whatever it is, Kobaian is the language of Kobaia, the planet from which Magma originate.
Magma are far from the only speakers of Kobaian. In fact, it has crossed Europe to Japan, where progressive/aggressive power jazz rock noise duo Ruins have incorporated it into their already indefinable body of work. Their 1992 album Burning Stone is sung entirely in Kobaian, and has liner notes included so that one can sing along at home.
