A Los Angeles radio station that has seen better days. It still retains a great deal of influence, especially when it comes to playlists at other alternative radio stations across the country. Many KROQ alumni have gone on to bigger things,&including Carson Daily, Kennedy, Adam Carolla, Jimmy Kimmel and Dr. Drew Pinsky.

KROQ is the big alternative station that most of the other alternative stations model themselves after. The original KROQ is in LA but there are stations in many other areas with similar call letters which play basically the samesongs. Most people feel that KROQ isnt as 'good' as it used to be, probably because the preponderence of rap-metal which generally isnt even considered alternative. But although it has its downfalls, it is definitely better than the alternative stations ive heard in most other towns. Sometimes neat bands like Home Grown or Less Than Jake get radio play.. Some people would say that only college radio is really 'alternative' but this argument leads to the circular logic of selling out. So, if you're in LA you can give 106.7 a try but you might want to bring some CDS in case its being lame or playing Love Line, which i personally dont like
