who is still at work. Kupert was born in 1926 as the child of Polish immigrants
. At the age of 11, he got into the comics business working as an apprentice
in a production house. He has been in the industry ever since.
He has done work for Sgt. Rock, Hawkman, Tarzan, Enemy Ace, Batman, and The Flash. Lately, he has switched to a longer format, producing graphic novels such as Tor and Abraham Stone. His best recent work is Fax From Sarajevo, a 1996 graphic novel on the true story of a colleague's experiences during the Serbian siege of the city.
Kupert also runs his own art school, which is devoted exclusively to the comic book format.
