On the
Cordillera Blanca in
Peru, the world's highest tropical mountain range,
Huascarán rises to 22,205 feet (6768 m) above
sea level. This mountain has two summits -- the higher one is
Huascarán Sur and the lower one is
Huascarán Norte (21,834 ft or 6655 m).
Huascarán is the second highest peak in the Americas. Only Aconcagua is higher.
